One of the deals I did this week was at CVS. They have certain packages of Always Infinity and Tampax Tampons for $3.99 with a $2 Extra Care buck printing out after you buy it. Combine this with the $1/1 coupon that was in this past Sundays P&G insert and get them for .99 plus tax. Limit one per card.
If you're unfamiliar with CVS and their extra care buck programs heres how it works. CVS has a little card called an extra care card, you'll get one credit card sized card and 2 key chain cards for family members or if you're like me, you can keep an extra in your car because you left the other at the house! These are completely free and you can request one online or in the store. With the card you get the sale prices, Extra Care Bucks and earn extra Extra Care bucks for prescriptions or how much you have spent quarterly.
You scan this card when you check out and it gives you the sale prices as seen in their ad. It will also print out Extra Care Bucks onto your receipt after you check out. In this example, a $2 one would print out for buying Tampax. You can use that on your next shopping trip. There are restrictions like no alcohol, cigarettes, gift cards, etc.. What most couponers do is save these and use them on another deal that will give you ECB's (Extra Care Bucks). For example, say next week they have Aussie shampoo on sale, $3.99 get $2 ECB back. You go in, get your Aussie and use that $2 ECB from the Tampax to lower your cost on the Aussie. You can still use an Aussie coupon if you have one. There is no limit on how many ECB's you can use in one transaction, so long as you don't go over your total due. They will not give you change back. Most ECB's are valid for 1 month. If it printed on 7/6 it'll expire on 8/6.
You can have more than one ECB card. I currently have 3, but be careful you can only use ECBs earned on one card for purchases for that specific card. Its very easy to keep track, your ECB will have your card number listed on it.
